1. What we do not do
- We do not collect personal information of any kind.
- We do not offer accounts, logins or sign-ups, and we do not ask for your name or email address.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, tracking or advertising identifiers.
- We do not run servers that receive your data. There is no Postela backend.
- We do not sell or share any data, because we have none.
2. What is stored on your device
Postela keeps the following in the app's own private storage on your phone or tablet:
- Your recent projects (up to 50): the product name, description and tagline you typed, the format and style you chose, the copy that was generated, and references to the photos you picked
- Which AI provider you selected
- Any API keys you entered, held in the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore rather than in ordinary app storage
- Whether Postela Pro is active on this device
Images you export are saved to your photo library only when you tap Save, or handed to the app you choose when you tap Share. None of this is sent to us, and none of it is linked to your identity. Deleting the app removes everything it stored; images you saved to your photo library stay there until you delete them.
3. When Postela goes online
Everything except AI copy and the subscription works without an internet connection. Postela makes network requests in two situations only:
- AI copy, if you turn it on. Postela can write headlines, captions and hashtags using a provider you choose and an API key you supply: Groq, Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI. When you tap Generate, the app sends the product name, description, tagline and chosen format from your device directly to that provider, together with your key. Your photos are not sent. The request does not pass through us and we never see it. What the provider does with it is governed by its own terms and privacy policy and by your account with them: Groq, Anthropic, OpenAI. If you choose Local mode, no request is made at all.
- The store. When you open the Postela Pro page, start a subscription or restore a purchase, the app talks to the App Store or Google Play through the system's own purchase service. See section 4.
4. The Postela Pro subscription
Postela Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that removes the "Made with Postela" badge from exports. Payment, the free trial and renewals are handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own terms and privacy policies. We never see your payment details, your name, your email address or your store account. The app is told only whether the subscription is active, and saves that answer on the device.
5. Permissions
- Photos. Choosing a photo uses the system photo picker, so Postela receives only the images you select. Saving an export asks for permission to add to your library; the app does not read your library.
- Camera (optional): used only when you tap Take photo to shoot a product picture. The photo stays on your device.
- Android only: internet access for the two cases in section 3, vibration for touch feedback, Google Play billing for the subscription, and storage access on Android 12 and earlier so exports can be saved to your gallery.
Postela never asks for your microphone, contacts, calendar or location.
6. Children's privacy
Postela is a tool for people marketing a product or an app and is not directed at children. Because we collect no personal data from anyone, we collect none from children.
7. Third-party software
Postela is built with React Native and Expo and open-source packages for on-device storage, image rendering and sharing. None of them sends data from Postela to a server. The only third parties that receive anything are the AI provider you choose, as described in section 3, and Apple's StoreKit or the Google Play Billing Library, as described in section 4.
8. Your rights and your data
Because Postela never sends your data to us, there is no database from which we could retrieve, correct or delete it. It is on your device, under your control. You can delete a project from History, clear an API key on its provider page in Settings, and remove everything by uninstalling the app. For data held by an AI provider under your account, use that provider's own tools.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
