Terms of Service.

The fair deal behind using Qito. Short, plain-English, and structured so you can skim for what matters.

TL;DR — You may use Qito freely on any supported device you own. Don't use it to break the law. We offer it as-is, with no warranty, but we'll act in good faith to fix real issues. Payments go through Apple or Google; refunds follow their policies. These terms are governed by the law of the state of Karnataka, India.

1. Who this is between

These terms are between you (the person using the Qito app) and PlayPal Apps, an independent developer operating out of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. When we say "we" or "Qito," we mean PlayPal Apps.

2. Your license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Qito on any device you own or legitimately control, subject to these terms. You don't "buy" Qito; you license the use of it. The IP remains ours.

You may not:

The QR engine in lib/core/qr/ of the source repository is separately licensed under MIT. If you want to build on that engine in your own project, that's fine — follow the MIT terms.

3. Purchases and Pro

Qito offers optional paid upgrades (Pro monthly, Pro yearly, Pro lifetime). These are sold and administered by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We never see or handle your payment information.

4. Your content

QRs, payloads, logos, photos, and styles you create in Qito are yours. We don't claim any ownership. Because Qito is offline-first and doesn't run a server, we don't even have access to any of that content unless you explicitly share it with us (for example, attached to a support email).

5. What we provide, and don't

Qito is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that Qito will be uninterrupted, error-free, or 100% accurate. We do commit to acting in good faith: shipping bug fixes, being honest about limitations, and not pulling features you paid for without a clear migration path.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will PlayPal Apps be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of Qito. Our total liability for any claim relating to Qito is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Qito in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) $50 USD.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain disclaimers — if yours doesn't, the disclaimed items only apply to the maximum extent permitted where you live.

7. Indemnification

If your use of Qito violates these terms or applicable law and that causes us (or a third party) legal exposure, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from the resulting claims and reasonable costs.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be surfaced in-app via a changelog entry linking here, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use of Qito after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you don't, stop using the app.

9. Termination

You can terminate this agreement at any time by uninstalling Qito. We may terminate your license if you materially violate these terms. Paid, non-refunded entitlements survive such termination only for features that don't require network verification.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state of Karnataka, India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved amicably is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, India.
