1. What we do not do
- We do not collect personal information of any kind.
- We do not offer accounts, logins or sign-ups, and we do not ask for your name or email address.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, tracking or advertising identifiers.
- We do not run servers that receive your data. There is no DailyStreak backend.
- We do not sell or share any data, because we have none.
2. What is stored on your device
DailyStreak keeps the following in the app's own private storage on your phone or tablet:
- Your habits: the name, icon, colour, schedule, reminder time and streak goal of each one
- Your check-ins: the dates, any note you added, and any days covered by a streak freeze
- Your settings, such as theme, sounds, haptics and gentle mode
- Whether DailyStreak Pro is unlocked on this device
- The date the rating prompt was last shown
The habits you track and the notes you write may be personal, and some may relate to your health. That is why none of it is sent to us or to anyone else, and none of it is linked to your identity. It stays on the device until you delete it.
Widgets. If you add the DailyStreak widget to your home screen, it reads the streak it shows from storage shared between the app and its widget on the same device. Nothing leaves the device.
Siri and Spotlight on iPhone and iPad. When you check in a habit, the app tells the system that you did so, so that Siri and Spotlight can suggest the habit later. That information stays on your device and is handled by Apple as part of the operating system. It is not sent to us.
3. Reminders
DailyStreak can remind you about a habit at a time you choose, and can send one evening nudge at 9 pm on days when habits are still unchecked. The app asks for permission to send notifications after the welcome screens or when you first set a reminder. Reminders are scheduled on your device by the operating system. They are not sent from a server, they work without an internet connection, and they tell us nothing. You can remove a habit's reminder in the app or withdraw the permission in your device settings at any time.
4. Backups, exports and sharing
You can save a backup file, export your data as a CSV file, or share an image card of a streak or your year. In each case the app hands the file to your device's share sheet, and it goes only where you choose to send it. Whatever app or service you send it to then handles it under its own privacy terms. When you restore from a backup, the app reads only the file you pick.
5. When DailyStreak goes online
Everything in DailyStreak works without an internet connection. The app makes network requests in one situation only: when it talks to the App Store or Google Play through the system's own purchase service, to look up the price of DailyStreak Pro, to make the purchase, or to restore one.
The DailyStreak Pro purchase. Pro is an optional one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited habits, full-year history, streak freezes, share cards without the watermark, CSV export and habits on set days of the week. It is not a subscription. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own terms and privacy policies. We never see your payment details, your name, your email address or your store account. The app is told only whether the purchase was made, and saves that answer on the device.
The app may occasionally show the standard App Store or Google Play rating prompt. That prompt is provided by Apple or Google and is subject to their privacy policies; we are not told whether or how you respond.
The links in Settings to this privacy policy, the terms and the support page open in your web browser, not inside the app. This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub may log technical details such as your IP address when you visit, under its own privacy statement. The website itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
6. Device backups
If you use your device's own backup service, such as iCloud Backup or Google's backup, it may include the app's data. Those backups are made under your own Apple or Google account and their terms. We have no access to them.
7. Permissions
- Notifications: only if you allow them, for habit reminders and the evening nudge.
- Android only: vibration, for haptic feedback; permission to run after the phone restarts, so that reminders can be scheduled again; and Google Play billing, with the internet access its billing library needs to reach the store.
DailyStreak never asks for your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, calendar or location.
8. Children's privacy
DailyStreak is a general-audience app and is not directed at children. Because we collect no personal data from anyone, we collect none from children.
9. Third-party software
DailyStreak is built with Flutter and uses open-source packages for on-device storage, notifications, widgets, haptics and sharing. Its fonts are bundled inside the app and are not downloaded. None of these components sends data from DailyStreak to a server. The only third parties that receive anything are Apple's StoreKit or the Google Play Billing Library, as described in section 5.
10. Your rights and your data
Because DailyStreak never sends your data to us, there is no database from which we could retrieve, correct or delete it. It is on your device, under your control. You can save a copy with Settings > Back up, and you can remove everything with Settings > Reset all data or by uninstalling the app.
