1. What we do not do
- We do not collect personal information of any kind, from children or adults.
- We do not use the internet. The app works fully offline, and the Android version does not even request internet access.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, tracking or advertising identifiers.
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising software.
- We do not offer accounts, logins, sign-ups or social features.
- We do not sell or share any data, because we have none.
- We do not contain in-app purchases or links to outside websites.
2. What is stored on your device
Circus Arcade keeps a small amount of game data in the app's own private storage on your phone or tablet:
- The rankings tables for Arcade, Endless and Daily, each entry with a score, the stage reached, the date and three initials
- Your best score for each act, and which acts you have reached (so Practice can offer them)
- Whether you have seen the first-play hints, and how many games have been played
- Your settings: music and sound volume, scanlines, screen shake, haptics, control scheme, button size, difficulty and display mode
This data never leaves the device and is not linked to you in any way. Deleting the app removes it completely.
3. Initials in the rankings
When a score makes the rankings, the game asks for three initials, as arcade machines always have. Those three characters are stored only on the device, next to the score, so they can be shown in the game's own rankings. They are never sent anywhere, and they are deleted when the app is uninstalled. Any three characters can be entered; they do not need to be real initials.
4. Permissions
On iPhone and iPad the app asks for no permissions. On Android it declares exactly one, vibration, which is used for the small haptic taps when you land a jump. You can turn haptics off in Options. The Android app does not declare the internet permission, so the operating system itself prevents it from going online.
5. Children's privacy
Circus Arcade is a game for all ages and is suitable for children, with a gentler Easy level for younger players. Because the app collects no data at all, it is consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States, with the GDPR and its rules for children in the European Union and United Kingdom, and with the Google Play Families policy. No parental consent is needed because no data is collected.
6. Third-party software
The game is packaged with Capacitor, an open-source framework that lets a web game run as a native app, and its official plugins for haptics, on-device preferences, screen orientation, the splash screen and the status bar. None of them makes a network call in Circus Arcade, and none collects data. No fonts, images or sounds are loaded from the internet: the artwork is drawn by the game and the music is generated on the device as you play.
7. Your rights
Because Circus Arcade never sends data to a server, there is no database from which to retrieve, correct or delete your information. Your data lives on your device, under your control. Options has a Reset Scores button, and uninstalling the app deletes everything it saved.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Because the app has no internet access, a change would only ever come with an app update you choose to install.
