Terms of Use

Effective date: 11 October 2026 · Last updated: 11 October 2026 · Developer: Naveen Raj (Playpal Apps) · App: Nota (com.playpalapps.nota) for iOS and Android

These terms cover your use of Nota. They are short on purpose. The section on backups matters most: your notes exist only on your device.

1. Licence

Playpal Apps grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Nota on devices you own or control.

2. Price

Nota is free. It has no ads, no in-app purchases and no subscription.

3. Your notes and your backups

Your notes, folders, tags, sketches, photos, reminders and settings exist only on your device. We have no copy of them and cannot recover them if the app is deleted or the device is lost.

You are responsible for keeping backups of your notes. Nota can save everything to a single file under Settings > Backup & restore. A backup file is not encrypted and includes locked notes, so you are also responsible for where you keep it. See the privacy policy.

4. Locked notes and reminders

Locking a note makes Nota ask for Face ID, your fingerprint or the device passcode before showing it. It is not a separate layer of encryption. Reminders are delivered by your device's notification system, which can delay them, so please do not rely on a Nota reminder where a late or missed alert would cause harm.

5. What you may not do

  • Copy, modify, decompile or redistribute the app or its design, artwork or code.
  • Remove copyright notices or pass the app off as your own.
  • Use the app in any way that breaks the law or the rules of the App Store or Google Play.

6. Ownership

The Nota name, icon, design and code are original works owned by Naveen Raj (Playpal Apps). What you write, draw and add in your notes remains yours. Open-source components are used under their own licences. Nota is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple or Google.

7. No warranty

The app is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it reliable, but we cannot promise it will always work on every device. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Playpal Apps is not liable for any loss arising from use of the app, including loss of notes. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under local law.

8. Updates and changes

We may update the app and these terms from time to time. The current terms are always published at this address with the effective date above.
